Sunday Finally, one of the most fun filled and fastest games started yesterday. Not only did Kho-Kho start, but also gave us two finalists. The first match started off at about 11 and there were hardly 30 people in Khaimat. However the hoots they made were equivalent to 100 people! It was an electrifying sight!
The first match was between Fareek Jihad and Fareek Yaqeen, in which the Fareek Jihad won. The Fareek Yaqeen were caught out twice while the Fareek Jihad were caught just one and a half times. The other match was played against the Fareek Sabr and the Fareek Adal, in which the Fareek Adal won. The remaining games were played in the afternoon. To make a long story short, each team played 2 matches and every team had won 1 and lost 1. The semifinals were scheduled as :
Fareek Jihad vs. Fareek Adal
Fareek Yaqeen vs. Fareek Sabr
A do-or-die situation for every group and everyone played their hearts out. The Fareek Jihad had what seemed to be a professional player, Murtaza M. Shabbir (he had jet in especially for the occasion!!). He had the spot-thinking ability to confuse the opponent which way to chase him. Despite Murtaza bhai’s efforts, the Fareek Adal did not just win, but effectively thrashed the Fareek Jihad.
Fareek Yaqeen were desperately looking for a win. Their point tally lagging behind already, they had a lot to play for and it was this passion that saw them beat the Fareek Sabr... The final between them and the Fareek Adal beckon!!!
